Gimp remove background from shape10/30/2023 ![]() Or if you want it to go even faster, you can totally replace a color with another by selecting the color you want to replace as color 2, cutting out the whole image with CTRL+A and CTRL+X, filling it with the color you want to replace with and pasting the image with the "transparent selection" option activated. There may be ways to correct the feathering (Curves on the Quickmask, for instance) to reduce the dark border if necessary. ![]() Select>Grow by N pixels (I used 10 pixels on your picture above) Select>Feather by N/2 pixels. This will remove the entire background outside of the selection. You will need to have a selection, so you can invert and delete. You can also use the eraser to remove the gray spots in the background. The fuzziness of the border makes that difficult but you can try this: fuzzy select the background. Continue to do this until you have gone completely around the area you wish to separate. Since there are very few colors, you can easily use the fill tool to change the green to gray for example. This method works great if your image’s background has a different array of colors than the subject you’d like to crop out. Which format you should choose depends on the image, in your case using 16-color bitmap would give this: Using the dropper tool, select a 'representative' sample of the sepia background. According to GIMP’s documentation, the Fuzzy Select Tool allows you to select areas of an image based on color similarity. Doing this makes there be fewer colors in the image that can be used and therefore changes the colors to the closest of these colors. You should click on File>Save As and then select Monochrome Bitmap, 16 Color Bitmap or 256 Color Bitmap as file types. You can do this using Paint by saving it as a low-quality Bitmap-image.
